いや～～～、マジで超怖かったです。

ホラーは日本が一番でそれは揺るがないだろうと思っていました。

元来日本のホラーはスプラッターとかグロ系（最近多いけど）じゃなくて、

ゾクゾクと背筋が寒くなる、恐ろしさと美しさが混在した魔訶不思議なものでした。

It was seriously super scary.

I thought that horror was the best in Japan and that nothing would ever surpass it.

Originally, Japanese horror was not about splatter and creepy stuff (although there is a lot of that these days),

It was a magical mixture of horror and beauty.

が、「超えてきた！」

監督さんは「死霊館シリーズ」で有名なジェームズ・ワン氏。

同氏はホラーのみならず、数々のジャンルの映画を作製されています。

「ミーガン」「アクアマン」はとても有名ですね。

But “Beyond!”

Directed by James Wan, famous for ‘The Conjuring’.

He has made films in a number of genres, not just horror.

‘M3GAN’ and ‘Aquaman’ are very famous.

かなりサイコなミーガン

死霊館にしても、インシディアスにしても、

ハラワタが飛び散り、四肢がねじ切れるような、

グロテスクな表現はありません。

ゾクゾクとジワジワと、徐々に観ている者に恐怖を植え付けていきます。

Or ‘The Conjuring’, or ‘Insidious’,

There are no grotesque representations of intestines splattering and limbs shredding.

Little by little, it instils fear in the viewer.

少し内容に触れていきましょう。

本作は、現役を退いた霊媒師の女性エリーズが主人公です。

彼女は幼いころから霊が見え、それによってとても苦しんでいました。

しかし、自分の力を使い、苦しんでいる人を救う仕事に就くことで、

The main character is Elise, a woman who is a retired medium.

She has been able to see spirits since she was a child and has suffered greatly from this.

However, she used this power to get a job saving people who are suffering!

だったら死者達の国があっても、何らおかしくは無いですね。

She has given hope to many people.

We can visualise less than 10% of the world.

That is what they say.

So it is not surprising that there is a country of the dead.

目覚めてこんな人達いたらチビるね

ただ、その国にも二通りあって、

希望と光に満ちて、次の命を待つ国と、

死と絶望と闇しか無い国。

闇の国の奥深くには、悪魔が存在し、

命ある者を妬み、何時でもとってかわりたいと思っています。

But there are two kinds of country,

A country full of hope and light, waiting for the next life,

a country where there is only death, despair and darkness.

In the land of darkness, there are demons who envy those who have life,

always wanting to change into a human being.
